In 2011 The Eastern Football League will enter its 51st year of operation offering elite top quality men's 18+ amateur full contact football in the New England area. This makes the league one of the longest running adult amateur or “semi-pro” leagues in the country. Since 1961 athletes from all different levels of experience ranging from high school to pro have lined the fields and battled it out all competing for an EFL Crown. Currently teams compete in the months of late June till October, Friday Nights and Saturdays with squads comprised of working class athletes playing purely for the love of the game. For 2011 the league will welcome its newest members the Maine Sabers of Portland, ME. The Worcester Mass Fury of Worcester, MA. The Twin City Blue Raiders of Leominster, MA and making a return to the EFL the Middleboro Cobras of Middleborough, MA. 2011 promises to be an exciting one for the league.
